Natural Treatments for ITP Blood Disorder - Fact or Fiction?

If you have been dealing with ITP Blood Disorder you no doubt have heard of supposed natural remedies to increase platelets. Homeopathic remedies, relaxation techniques, eating buckets full of berries... the list goes on and on. You not only have heard about them but maybe you or a loved one has tried a few of them. Have they worked? Probably not. I am here to explain to you why.

First thing to understand is that natural remedies don't work for everyone. This is a serious issue. I say this because people who try them have serious problems like your low platelet blood count or ITP disease. Most if not all have tried the standard medical treatments and are looking for additional help, maybe even you. So why the failure?

Here is the problem. If you follow a certain remedy without doing your research and knowing if it is tailored for your specific issues you are doing nothing more than shooting in the dark. ITP Blood Disorder has multiple possible causes. So the remedy is only going to be effective if it addresses the exact cause or causes of your low platelet count. Make sense?

I will give you a personal example. A family member heard that carrot juice in large quantities would cure his illness. We purchased a high end juicer and started juicing carrots by the box full. Every one in the family also drank this for moral support. Was it effective? No... except everybody did start to turn orange! Vitamin A deficiency was not the root problem so the carrot juice was pointless.

But something constructive did come out of this experience. We were also adding celery and apples to the juicing process to add flavor. My 10 year old son was trying to help and juiced way too much celery. Instead of throwing it away my husband drank it all. A whole 16 ounce glass! He had been suffering every afternoon in the heat with headaches. Guess what... no more headaches!

He was suffering from dehydration and although he was drinking plenty of water the headaches still came. This was because his salts were low. Guess what celery is high in? Natural sodium! The point is the natural remedy worked, even though by accident, because it addressed the root cause. Celery was the hero (and my 10 year old).

Many think vitamin D is good for ITP Blood Disorder. It only is if you are vitamin D deficient. Otherwise taking high doses of D won't do anything. In fact it could harm you because it can be toxic in high doses! See what I mean?

So before you try any natural remedy for ITP Blood Disorder make sure the said remedy is right for you. Get a blood test to see if you are deficient in any vitamins or minerals. Get a nutritional orientated or naturopathic doctor in your court. Do your homework. Snipe your problem with a targeted approach. Of coarse there is allot more to learn about natural treatments to increase platelets and end ITP disease but at least you are on the right track. Good health to you.
